RACING TEAM
Welcome to Georgian Bay Nordic
GBN is a cross-country ski team located at Sawmills Trails in Hepworth, near Owen Sound, Ontario. Established in 1990, the club has been encouraging and developing young athletes for more than 25 years. Scores of young people between ages of 10 -18 have participated in a meaningful way and discovered a lifelong passion for skiing and outdoor adventure activities. Many of these youth have gone onto compete at the regional, provincial, national and international level. We pride ourselves on building character, skills, resolve and strive to be “a fellowship of skiers in pursuit of excellence”.
Under the leadership of our coaching coordinator, Marilyn Suke, we offer a range of programs.
The DEVELOPMENT U12 team is intended for skiers from 10 – 11 years of age.
DEVELOPMENT U14 team is intended for skiers from 12 – 13 years of age.
For skiers 14 and older, we have the U16/OPEN and U18/OPEN teams, which race at the Regional and Provincial levels (O-CUPs), with the opportunity to represent the club at the annual National races.
